Anyone have a positive Group B?

It's really not a big deal at all. It doesn't have an effect on your pregnancy. You have to have antibiotics for atleast 4hrs while in labor to keep from passing it to baby. I had my son really fast and couldn't have the antibiotic in time so he was put on them for 48hrs. Everything turned out just fine.

Just a heads up, if you're positive now it doesn't mean you'll be positive when you give birth. And even if you are, like others said, it's just an IV through part of your labor. Don't worry chica (:

Just as someone else said, I had this with my second pregnancy, and my son was born so quickly that I couldn't get the antibiotics in time. They took him to the special care nursery for observation, but he never had any complications from it.

My friend did and she just had her baby last week. It just involved her getting some antibiotics. Really simple.

I had it with my last 2. No big deal really, you just have to go to the hospital for a round of IV antibiotics a few hours before you give birth or when your water breaks. Ideally I'd like to be negative this time so I didn't have to rush in, but otherwise don't let it scare you.

I had it for my first two pregnancies and just got antibiotics during labor. Got tested for it last week for my third child and it was negative. Like they say every pregnancy is different. I don't think there are any symptoms (atleast not that I'm aware of) I never experienced any.

My midwife suggested I take probiotics/ drink keifer everyday. It helps reduce the chances of testing positive and you keep taking them till you have the baby so you don't grow it.

I had it with my first baby 7 years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if I have it again. I'm just glad they had antibiotics to get rid of it.
Don't be scared. Some women get and some don't. Each pregnancy is different too.

So glad to see this, been needing some reassurance myself! After premature contractions last week it was found that I have a uti and then the swab they took at that time came back positive. Really started to be concerned as they never called me and I saw my test results through their online service. I never made it far enough when my other children were born to be tested so I wasn't familiar with it and the internet didn't help!

Anyone have a positive Group B?
