How is everyone dealing with gestational diabetes?

How is everyone dealing with gestational diabetes? I just found out yesterday and I feel like I should have done something different and that's it's all my falt. I just want my baby to be ok and healthy.

I felt the same way when I found out a few weeks ago but quickly came to terms with it. I still haven't even seen diabetic nurse for testing info or diet info which I will have on Friday. I would join the gestational diabetes forum on here. Also just know this is not your fault! So many women go through it and have healthy babies so hang in there!

I have only had GD with my daughters - not my sons.  With my first little lady I gained and swelled and could never get my sugars under control!  I worked so hard at counting carbs, but didn't look at fats, or calories, or if the food was healthy or not. With this little lady I am eating clean - looking at carbs and fats, but also NO white flour, potatoes, white rice, or junk food.  It is a b@*ch!  Lol...can you tell I am CRAVING a cupcake ;)

I felt the exact same way when I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago. But I've been following my diet that they gave me (mostly) and my levels are all low. Even when I cheat my levels are low. So far. Nothing you could have done to prevent it. Best thing you can do is just try to find some positives in it. That's helped me the most

I've had it for more than half my pregnancy now (since 16wk...currently 34w4d). It's not your fault and with proper care, monitoring and dedication you will be fine.
