So sad this afternoon and scared. I found out a guy I had been in school with since 2nd grade had his 2nd baby today and they confirmed Spina Bifida. Their first baby was born with his intestines outside of his body. This is so scary to me and my heart just breaks for them. He is a Youth Minister. Just hoping the best for them.

How does Spina Bifida occur? Is it genetic? I know folic acid can help prevent it. I'm 5 weeks and unfortunately tend to over educate myself on things.
