35 and over?

Anyone "older" worried about the possibility of chromosomal abnormalities??

I am 38 and 9 weeks ..I am a little nervous.. We heard the heartbeat at 7 weeks..the heartbeat was 167 Bpm .. The Dr. Said the baby looks beautiful and not to worry... Many older woman have healthy babies everyday.. I felt a little better after that.. I go for the Down syndrome and trisomy 13 and 18 screen on the 20th. Then the nuchal the following week 😀 I hope all goes well!! Are you testing as well??

I am over 35 and 6w3d along. I'm too happy to think about abnormalities right now. I just had my first ultrasound and saw my LO's beating heart. I am not even sure at this point I'll have the extra tests to determine. I need to enjoy positive milestones for a while before getting nervous about the next step!  My husband is all about facts and data;  he read that the issue of women over 35 having higher rates of abnormalities is just that there are fewer pregnancies. Not sure what we will ultimately do. How are you feeling about it all?

Absolutely worried. I'm 37, DH is 35, don't have our first u/s scheduled until Monday (the anticipation is killing me). Keep your chin up, and do whatever testing makes you feel confident in the health of yourself and your child!

I'm 34. Will be 35 in September with baby due on 2-1.  My husband and I talked about doing the test and decided to pass on all of them.  We wanted this baby and will love it no matter what. I'm not wanting to spend the next 7 months worrying.   I will enjoy my pregnancy and when baby get here we will pray for happy and healthy.   Good luck to all!

I'm 38 and this is my 6th pregnancy. I won't be able to have a appointment for another 4-5 weeks. I'm 7wks now. I'm not worried!

I'm 10 weeks 1 day along and will be 35 in November. I'm anxious to make sure all is well with baby biscuit. I just try to focus on positive. In this case all we can do is try to keep our little babies healthy and enjoy the ride! 😊

I'm 8wks 5days and will be 35 next Wednesday. It's definitely something I've thought about but I don't know if we will do the testing. I'm leaning towards doing it but my husband isn't. It's a really hard decision!
