Gender reveal parties?

We are considering having a gender reveal party and I'm curious what people's thoughts are on them. I've never been to one myself but I always enjoy a good get together. I worry that no one will want to come because they will find out eventually. Thoughts and party ideas are welcome 😊.

We are having one next sunday with close friends and family. It's a fun time for everyone to get together, have some food and celebrate, also I thought because baby showers we usually for women only this would be a good way for everyone to be there (and who doesn't like cake?!)

I've always known a gender reveal party as the husband or dad of the baby throws the party to let the mom know what she's having. But a lot of people do it to let everyone else know. People have used balloons, silly string, cake, Hershey's bars, confetti, banners, I've even seen some do it with colored water and they spray each other with water guns on a white shirt.

My sister had one and it was fun... My family is always down for food and fun lol. I didn't have one only because I found out 2 weeks after she did and I didn't think if anything special to do for mine that they didn't see at hers already lol. But they are fun we had a good time at hers and everyone made it

We had ours just the other day. We did it to keep our 6 year old involved, we let him know the gender at the ultrasound with my mom and then he silly stringed us w/ "blue" I had such a great time, but I have been so emotional and since I was so certain that we were having a girl that when I found out it was a boy ( we were still over the moon, just surprised) but it would have been nice to have a few minutes to hear the news with just my husband/family

I wanted to do one cause I thought it would be fun. Then my hubby said he wanted to know the second the doctor got our blood test results back.  I wanted us to find out at the same time but he was insistent. We decided to just surprise the family with the news instead cause I was not going to be left in the dark when he knew. We found out at 12w. My husbands birthday was at my 14w mark. We planned a family lunch with extended family from my side and his side to celebrate. My inlaws live two hours away but they drive in regularly for the day for business so we just planned it out to all sync up and lunch is easier for them. After lunch, My hubby opened all his birthday gifts leaving the big box we brought (it was at my parents house) for the very end.  The last box was filled with pink balloons. Our family had no clue we were even going to tell them then. It was really fun to see everyone start screaming with excitement.

My advice, do what you want! Pinterest is full of fun ideas. It's fun to gather everyone and see what they think. Good luck!

I'm not doing a gender reveal party with cake and everything. But I'm inviting a few family and friends over after the ultrasound. I bought pink and blue silly string (don't know the gender yet, and I needed to order the silly string) for my kids to spray each other with. I'm going to take video and pictures to post to social media for everyone else 😀

My best friend is going to our sono on monday and finding the gender out then we are having a small get together with our immediate family and close friends the following saturday. We are doing the reveal as the cake so this should be interesting.

We r having our reveal on sunday.  We usually have a big bbq every summer anyway so we just combined the two.  So tons of food, people, fun and then a cake with either blue or pink inside 😊 we haven't peeked in the envelope so we will all find our together 😊
