Are Childbirth classes worth going to?

FTM here and my hospital has only one spot left in their Childbirth class which happens to be 1 week before my due date.  I tried getting other moms to switch with me to an early class but no luck.  I'm 35+2 days and really can't picture myself sitting through an 8.5 hour class at 39 weeks.  Is this something that is really worth it?  Will I miss anything important that I can't find out through online tutorials?  Thank you!

I'll be using birth classes as a way for my hubby to get involved.  He does think he has a job to do, lol! So naive, so so naive. 😉 he's going to going to be thanking me when the shit hits the fan (maybe literally) lol! 😂

In your case I would say no. 8.5 hours all at once!? That's insane. I have 5 classes that I am going to that are 2 hours each. And even that is pushing it when it comes to sitting on the floor and in those uncomfortable chairs.

In our case the hospital tour part was the most helpful (which they also offer separately), and having my husband see more of what labor was really going to be like. Other than that its the same stuff you can read in a book.
