Big baby??

Question

Will I have a big baby just because I am considered "obese" or does it not work like that? Sorry if that's a silly question just curious cause I'm 20w3d now but at my 18w scan baby boy was measuring 6 days ahead of due date.. Dr and tech said just a growth spurt just not sure if I should be concerned for a big baby just because I am big! 😊

No, it doesn't mean you'll have a big baby. You can, if you have untreated gestational diabetes, but most heavy women give birth to totally normal babies.

Nope. I am 300lbs, was with my last pregnancy as well, my first baby came out 7lbs 9oz, he was actually a skinny little thing! My mom teased me that I wasn't feeding him enough 😓 Well see how big this one will be in a few weeks, shes measuring to be 8.5 lbs, but they told me my son was going to be 9.5, so nearly 2lbs difference. Anyway no, you are not going to have a big baby just because you yourself are overweight.

Nope! Even with my first, I was diagnosed with gd late, gained 45lb was close to 300 when I delivered and my little man was only 7.14. Don't worry!

Update: spoke to my regular OB. He said that the margin of error in second trimester ultrasounds are about 5 days so that makes sense :)
