We told them, too bad. They had a chance when naming us as kids, now it is our turn. You can't make everyone happy. :)

what if u give her a name that Polly is a nickname for? I don't think u should worry about pleasing family, and maybe just don't tell anyone once u decide for sure until after baby comes to discourage bad comments...like Pollyanna, Paulina, Paulette, pauleen, Palila, Palomina, Paula..
