Apparently, I'm an idiot because I keep forgiving hurtful behavior. I promised myself that I wouldn't put up with this shit anymore, but here I am crying again because of his actions.

You can never forget, but forgiveness is learned to accept/love someone even though they've caused you pain. It's dangerous to forget because it can causes the person to keep doing the same thing. You can forgive someone and not allow them in your life/ or love from a distance because it keeps to safe and sane. Forgiveness is not easy but it is worth every bit.
