Tess • 19. I💙my son! I wouldn't have it any other way❤️ engaged to my wonderful fiancé!
I lost a HUGE piece of my mucus plug with a bloody show at 7 pm on Friday July 10, and about 30 minutes later I started having contractions 3-5 minutes apart, SO, my fiancé took me to the hospital. They had me walk around for about an hour and I stayed at 3cm dilated. So, they sent me home. We weren't even home for an hour and we went straight back! My contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and I was in the most in bearable pain I had ever felt.
In less than an hour, I dilated to a 5cm and they ended up keeping me. Keep in mind it was now about 4 a.m on July 11th.
I got my epidural around 6am, which then I was at 6 cm, and 90%neffaced.
around 9 am, I was checked again, and I was at a 9cm. Keep in mind all I had was an epidural! And I'm a first time mom, and I didn't even need perp inn I was dilating and contracting like a champ! Around 10:20 a.m they broke my water. Around 12pm I was at 10cm and 100% effaced, ready to push.
I pushed for a total of an hour and 28 minutes. When I was crowning and almost having his head pushed all the way out his heart rate dropped dramatically.
Leading to me having to get and episiotomy, mind you, they let some of the epidural ware off so I could feel the contractions so I could push, MEANING, I felt her cut into me!! I screamed and gave 3 more good pushes and my son was born at 1:43 pm at 7 pounds and 10 ounces and measuring at 20 inches.
After he was delivered we did an instant skin to skin contact and 3 minutes after the placenta stopped pulsating my fiancé cut the umbilical cord, after that we decided to try out breast feeding, he latched like a CHAMP!! While breast feeding I had to get stitches from my episiotomy, ouch ouch ouch!!!! For some reason I kept bleeding and they seems really concerned but they've been keeping an eye on it.
I'm so in love with my son it's insane!!!!!
