Leg cramps

Natalie
I am in week 24 and just the last three days my leg cramped up so bad I couldn't move it and then once that went away the pain in my muscles never did. I have been limping around for two days and can't walk normal. I read that leg cramps in 2nd trimester can be common. Anyone know how to help it subside or go away?

Water water water! I've also heard that stretching before bed helps too!

On a side note, a lady I work with said she compares the pain of charley horses to contractions! 😳

It is something normal. I get wicked bad Charlie horses if I stretch completely at night when I'm sleeping. I have restless legs at night as well. They say it's a vitamin or iron deficiency and to mention it to your OB.

I get those too and they are awful!  Make sure you are staying hydrated as this can be a sign of dehydration.  Also you might be low on potassium, eating a banana or any other food night in potassium will definitely help.  Good luck!

I woke up the other night with a leg cramp so bad I was almost crying! Couldn't get it to go away for ages either. I've also heard drinking more water can help.
