Natural birth stories?

I'm planning on going natural no epidural 🙅🏽 what were your experiences with natural birth and would you do it again?  Was it harder to push? Did it hurt way more ? Did you feel the "ring of fire" ? This is my first baby sorry 😝

Leslie have you watched The Business of being born?? it is a doco that you can watch on YouTube and it basically shows how good natural births can be. it's is very one sided but provides a lot of great information on natural births.

Typically Id give a longer response but I'm headed to bed. I did all natural with my last birth and planning it for this one again. Did it hurt umm yeah!!! Worst pain ever! But so worth it! You've got to try to mentally prepare yourself and your support system. Best thing was getting up and out of that bed to cope better with contractions. Pushing didn't hurt for me in fact it was only way to make the pain stop. Yes I felt ring of fire but it wasn't awfully painful just a burning sensation. For me the true pain was only in the contractions. Pushing and birthing was a relief!

Having my third home birth in December and wouldn't have it any other way!!! I highly suggest a Doula. I didn't have one with the first but wish I had. A doula can help you find the right way to go about pain management for you. They start at about 500 and go up. I had a Doula in training, so it was free and was very happy! I'm going with a Doula in training this time around as well. 
But to get to your questions.
Yes it hurts! but it's not for very long. No I did not feel a ring of fire.

I have only given birth once and it was a natural birth. I can't make comparisons. I used home study hypnobirthing starting around 25 weeks. I had a successful natural birth with hypnobirthing and very supportive husband, nurse, and birthing center. I would very willingly have another natural birth. I was able to handle everything my labor had to offer. The ring of fire was very brief for me so it wasn't that big of a deal. The constractions during pushing are pretty intense. I'm thankful for not having an epidural and being able to feel by baby's progress. It made for a quicker experience.

This is my first too and I'm ready Ina Maes natural birth book as well as the Bradley method husband coached birth book. I'm trying as best I can to keep the birth all natural with no meds. The books really help and after reading them I'm even more so set on no epidural/meds. It's got some interesting facts about how much it changes the delivery. Best of luck to you!!

I had a natural birth in a hospital where it is not done frequently. I went in with a birth plan and a lot of confidence that I was going to listen to my body allow it to take over and let the nurses know that I was more scared of a needle in my back than having this baby (previous childhood horror story) I agree with Meg your mindset has so much to do with it. I was actually falling asleep between heavy contractions and pushed for maybe 20 minutes and what a grand experience it was when they placed my daughter in my arms!!! Giving birth is truly a blessed experience and something our bodies were made for. I also recommend Ina Mays guide to childbirth. Have a wonderful experience.
