Help!!

I take birth control pills, lately I've been forgetting to take them at the same hour. I still take them but at different times during the day. I have unprotected sex with my boyfriend at least once a week. My period was supposed to start today but I'm just getting light spotting. This has happened before and I start bleeding normally after a couple of days. But I don't know why I'm freaking out this time...any advice??
