Baby shower?!

Question

Are any British mummy's to be holding a baby shower? My fiance and I are thinking of having one. We never had an engagement party or a housewarming party when we bought our house so we thought we'd have a baby shower. I was just wondering though, without being offensive, if baby showers are more of an American thing to do? I'm the first of my friends to become pregnant and have no idea,lol. Thanks in advance! 😊😊

I'm From Ireland and my sister is trowing me a baby shower to celebrate our rainbow baby I think it's great idea And it will be such a good excuse to gather friends and family for a day of fun and games

I want one! I have an American friend living here in England and we had one for her earlier this year - it was great fun! :) She got some amazing presents too, not necessarily expensive, but lovely homemade toys and blankets. Things you wouldn't necessarily give for a christening present. I say go for it!

I'm in Ireland and I'm going to have one :) I'm not mad on the idea of presents at them because you get so many after baby comes and for the christening, but I love the idea of the games and getting friends and family together so my best friend is organising one for me :) they're still pretty rare here but the trend is catching on :)
