Gassy & grunting solutions

Brittany
Nolan was born on June 1 and was initially very gassy. He would grunt all the time and kick his legs aggressively so we talked to our doctor and she suggested this (at 4 weeks old)
1. Gerber soothe drops for colic (probiotics for babies)
2. Antigas drops at each feeding
Those seemed to help :) and then I saw my midwife and lactation consultant and she recommended
1. I make Nolan do the nipple crawl
2.  Breastfeed laying down because my let down was so heavy.
Making Nolan do the nipple crawl instead of sitting up and feeding him helps him release gas as he is Crawling up my belly and he latches well each time. My letdown doesn't make him choke or gulp air because he's on top of my breast and must suck hard for milk instead of it gushing into his mouth.
It's much easier on my body to lay down and feed him so I'm not dreading breastfeeding. He feeds much longer and has just started sleeping 6 hours after we put him to bed, only waking up ONCE before the sun come up! Amazing :)
Here's a video of the nipple crawl if you're unfamiliar http://youtu.be/33YEIXMpm-E
