Piercings???

I have a piercing down below will I be asked to take it out when I go into hospital to have my baby?? When I had my first I was told to take my tongue piercing out.

They have you take it out because if they have to take you for emergency surgery. It's standard procedure. Your piercing won't close up in the amount of time u will be in the hospital

Yes, they like you to take piercings out in case of emergency, like when you have surgery. Plus there will be a lot going on down there, and the piercing could be a hindrance, or rip.

What do you mean? Like when you're giving birth you have to take out your piercings? I would imagine only a vaginal piercing would be taken out... But after the baby is born, they like to tug & rip things out so after, it's up to you whether you want to take your piercings out but I've never heard anything about giving birth & having to take out a piercing unless it was in the way. ?

All I had to do was make sure I changed them to plastic.  I was told no metal. I was never told to remove them.

I have a horizontal hood and didn't take mine out for delivery.

I would imagine. A lot of things can rip and I would think that is one of them. But I don't have one and don't know for sure.
