What does child birth really feel like?

Question

I've tried to google it but I can't really get a straight up answer. I'm not scared... Just intrigued. And who better to ask than ladies who have already been through it. And if you haven't, what are you expecting it to feel like?

PS you can be as honest as you want... Pain doesn't put me off! :)

It actually burns when they are crowning. But it doesn't last long once you get the head out. Then it's the shoulders, then one final push! Poof! Baby time! That's just the active labor bit. Contractions feel like really bad period cramps, breathe through them, focus on something, know this is all for the greatest gift you'll ever receive, you're beautiful baby. Good luck mama!

I got an epidural so I didn't feel anything. My mother said it feels like shitting a telephone pole tho.

I got an epidural but before I did the contractions were terrible. Normally I talk a lot, I couldn't talk or move during the contractions. I tried to use the ball and walk but I couldn't. The only way I can describe it is that they felt like some one took pliers or vice grips and squeezed them all the way together on my cervix for 1 minute at a time and then let go. Lol at first they just felt like cramps but a few hours in and it was unbearable to me. Kudos to the natural ladies! My labor also came on early and fast so that could have had something to do with it. You will survive and have a beautiful baby for it!

I went all natural with my first the contractions felt like really bad period cramps,but breathing through them helped a lot and once the baby in the birth canal it feels like you have to poop" honest I kept telling the Dr I have to go #2 and he said no that's the baby and I had to push sure enough he was right... So pretty much feels like you have to poo. My second I got an epidural and I couldn't feel a thing :( , I'm expecting my 3rd and going all natural again unless baby has a different plan. I have no idea. With my first I was induced. The contractions got so bad after they broke my water. I requested an epidural. It seemed they pumped me full of drugs. I have absolutely no recollection of my delivery. Saddest thing ever. :( this time we will be recording it.

Good luck mama. Remember, pain only lasts as long as labor. As soon as that babe is in your arms, you forget about everything else.

The contractions are like leg cramps but they run across you entire middle and back for as long as it takes. They are exhausting and painful and birth feels like popping a bowling ball. when you feel the urge to push it is 100% instinctual. When they tell you not to push, it is the hardest thing to not do. Good thing- it all ends when the baby comes out.

My labor was nothing compared to my horrendous periods. Until I had my first child the pain during my period was so bad I would break out in a cold sweat, puke and pass out. So labor pains caught me off guard at first because until they come regularly you don't expect them. But it wasn't enough to make me cry and labor was more tiring than painful I think. My body numbed itself around the bottom so Idk what ring of fire even means. I only had an ice pack as my labor was only 45 minutes and I had no time for meds.

Worst part for me was the ring of fire, that didn't feel pretty and I'm not looking forward to feeling it again!!! But labor pains feel different for every lady, some have back labor some don't.  I didn't have back labor so all my pain was in the front, feels like the worst period pain you've ever had x10.

Contractions were AWFUL and exhausting. Sort of like the worst period cramps you've ever had- on steroids. I was in labor for 24 hours so without an epidural I don't know how I would have made it! pushing was the easy part
