So I'm 16 going on 17 this year and I'm currently dating my SO who is 19 . We've been together officially for 4 months but we have liked each other for about a year . I just graduated from high school and I don't know if I should tell my parents .. They know we are interested in each other but they don't know that we are serious .. Should I tell them ?

I learned this lesson the hard way. If you really want to be together and really really like each other and don't want it a secret, tell them. I wish I would if waited to tell my parents about my last boyfriend because as soon as they found out my mom went on a rampage and it didn't last long after I told them.

Yes you should tell your parents. For almost two years, I hid my so from my parents. It was awful and we almost broke up many times. A little bit after I turned 17, we were able to see each other & hang out & have a real relationship. Now I'm 18 & I live with my so.
