Cytotec Good? Bad??

Question

Going in at 2 tomorrow afternoon to start an induction. I was induced with my first only using pitocin so I wasn't to nervous about going through it again until my doctor said they would be using cytotec before the pitocin. (Different dr than with my first) so when I got home this evening I googled it (I know you can't believe everything you google) & there are a lot scary things about cytotec. It's not FDA approved for use during pregnancy and it can cause complications. Would've asked my dr more questions if I knew that then.

Does anyone have any advise or positive birth stories about cytotec being used? 😔

I had to have it with my last child because pitocin wasn't working about an hour after the third pill I had strong contractions and in 6 hours my sweet baby was born. I pushed for like minute and she was out 😊 If I had to be induced again I would probably request it over pitocin. But if you're not comfortable with it you have other options.

I labored with it for 12hrs and it was agony!  Had to have epidural & pitocin anyway.  Don't do anything you don't feel comfortable doing.

If you don't feel comfortable taking it you don't have to. Refuse it and ask for pitocin. Good luck with your delivery!

Everything I've ever read about it was bad. It's known to cause uterine rupture.

We use it all the time at our hospital (I'm a labor £ delivery RN). We see great outcomes using Cytotec. Do you have any risk factors that would make it unsafe? There are negatives you can find with everything out there!!! Ask questions. Make an educated decision for you and your baby!!
