I would just get a pack of diapers and wipes. Even if they are millionaires, diapers are needed the most. Or if they plan to cloth diaper, you could go with baby wash and lotion and some odds and ends.

i worked with bridal registries and have spent weeks perfecting my baby shower registry. if i can give one piece of advice, it would be to please! don't buy something off the registry just because YOU think its cute. the person spent hours putting down exactly what they need/want and if you get them a onesie that says "future heartbreaker" rather than that bottle cleaning brush they registered for, i promise they won't be happy. get whatever you can afford, but even if it's a weird gift, they'll appreciate it because it's one less thing they'll HAVE to buy.

I would get one cute outfit ( no one can tell how much non branded clothes are )...A pack of nappies and also one of wipes and put in a basket with a bow.
Makes it all look more expensive and thoughtful. I bet you could do all that for $40!

You could get a basket and get simple needed things such as shampoo, those things to scrub, lotion, some wipes and small pack of diapers and hair comb and maybe some bottles.. that'll probably be around $40 and will look very nice and its everything that is a MUST to have for a baby.

If you can't find anything affordable in the registry, just get something else. It'll be appreciated (unless they're dicks). I have a lot of expensive stuff on my registry that I don't expect people to actually buy. We just put everything we want on there, because we can get a discount/rewards points if we buy that stuff later.
