The in-laws....

Sara
Me and my husband have one 16-month-old baby boy, my husband's parents are partiers they drink alcohol and do drugs all the time. I often have a hard time being around them though because of how much the party and use foul language and they often make crude jokes. I know at this age that my son won't remember or understand what they are saying but I don't know how to keep the relationship with them and asked them to calm things down if they want to be around my son. My husband feels the same way we have been praying a lot about it. It's hard because I know how special Michael my son is to them, he is the only grandchild and they spoil him rotten!  Now my question is as a Christian how do you make boundaries? I've heard many peoples opinions so far we haven't had to do too much yet, right after my son was born though my mother-in-law stole some of my pain meds so I've had to learn to hide those thankfully I don't need them right now:-/ we have taken a few steps like we hardly ever go to their house because they openly used pot and even as a joke tried to give my son beer! You know it is a lot harder to love the sinner and hate the sin when it could influence your child someday!
