Non-hormonal Copper IUD ?

Question

Hormones mess with me, as they mess with many women. So I'm scared to go back on birth control. I've heard about the copper IUD but have also heard horror stories about your body absorbing them into your tissue or moving them around. Opinions, experiences or advice? Thanks!!

I've had mine for 3 years and no problems. All of my friends have the copper IUD and no issues either. You often remember the rare horror stories and never hear from the vast majority of women who have no negative effects at all.

My body rejected it- moved down to the cervical canal and caused pain. It's not effective when it's there either and I got pregnant and miscarried (very early on). Lasted 7 months. I do have a retroverted uterus so perhaps that played into it

Read up on copper toxicity before deciding.
