Cryopreservation (Egg Freezing) with high BMI
Where to start...
I had been on a diet since the 3rd grade. Until January when I was diagnosed with A-Typical Anorexia. The only time I have evermaintained a "normal" weight (136 at 5'3") I worked out 4 hrs a day and ate 1100-1350 calories a day, my goal bein 1250. That lasted for 3-4 years.
I spent my whole life trying to suppress my weight. That came to a screeching halt when I went into recovery, now I am focused on accepting and loving my body whatever size I am and living a healthy lifestyle. I workout, I eat right, and I am proof positive that that isn't always all it takes to be skinny. I am also prop of a person whonis HEALTHY at a higher weight then I ever was when I was "skinny".
I say all this because I am not here to discuss weight loss or ways to loose weight or the like I am here hoping to find some people who had a BMI over 40 that did cryopreservation or had a healthy successful pregnancy.
Last October I did a round of cryopreservation and it was successful in collecting 11 viable eggs. I was set to start stimulation on Wednesday; however since October, and my diagnosis I have had to stop restricting my caloric intake (I ate an average of 1150-1200 most days) and instead focus on building intuitive eating and healthy living. Subsequently my weight went up (I'm not allowed to know my weight at this time as its a trigger), I'm not sure how much but on Wednesday when I went to start my second round of stimulation the doctor said my BMI was over 40 and they couldn't do the procedure because their facility isn't certified to do a retrieval on any one whose BMI is over 40.
My therapist suggested I see if there are others who have gone through cryopreservation at a higher BMI or even gone through pregnancy at a higher BMI? If you have would love for you to share your story/thoughts. Thanks!
