Anyone experience a piece of their placenta left behind after they gave birth?

If so how long did it take for you to notice and what were your symptoms?

My mother had this happen. The doctor did not clean her out properly and left part of the placenta. She developed high fever and felt sick. My parents sued the doctor for malpractice and won. The infection could have killed her.

The nurse/midwife should examine your placenta after you've birthed it to see if it's all intact and passed.

Yes. They missed a piece. My son was in a hospital 3 hours from home so I stayed at the Ronald McDonald house and I stayed hemorrhaging while  there. It sucked
