When to share your news.

I need advice? I'm excited about my pregnancy but I'm not sure if I should share the news now or wait.  Advice please ??

I'm waiting till after my 1st ultrasound I'll be 8.5 weeks by then. I just want to see that everything is ok.

When it came to work, I waited until I saw the heartbeat. My mom and family knew around then too. I was 6-7 weeks. I'm now 9-10. Baby is doing just fine :)

Do what you feel is best. There is no right or wrong time to announce. You told family and friends immediately after we found out! And announced to Facebook around 6 and a half weeks after we found out we were having twins. Only 20% of pregnancies end in a miscarriage, announcing "too early" will not jinx or affect your pregnancy in any way, you can miscarry at ANY time during a pregnancy not just during the first trimester. Do what makes you happy! If you want to tell the world, tell them! If you want to wait, then wait

You should do what you feel is best. Personally we've decided to tell one mutual friend, & one of the three sets of future grandparents! That way we have a small support team during the first trimester. We're wanting to share the news as soon as possible, but we're going to wait until about the 12th week to let everyone know.

I have had two miscarriages. The second one happened at the end of the first trimester, just after we had announced. We had seen the heart beat. I will say that un-telling people is difficult to do and we found ourselves having to do it for quite a while after. That news doesn't spread as quickly as happy pregnancy news.

Obviously you can have a miscarriage any time as someone below said and it won't jinx it.. The reason most people wait to make the big announcement (if they're going to) is because your chance's of miscarriage go down drastically after the first trimester. And if you make a big announcement before that--That just means telling that many more people. My sister-in-law announced her second at 6 weeks by having her almost one year old open a present in front of the WHOLE family... And I mean a lot of people.. The present was a shirt that said "only child expires.." With the date. Of course this was super cute. Then she posted the pictures of this on Facebook and a few days later had a miscarriage. It was tough... Especially with people still commenting on her Facebook picture! I think for me I'll tell friends and family and then we'll see! It all depends on your comfort level and hopefully it won't matter either way!

I told my close friends first, telling work tomorrow and my family will be after the first ultrasound(sept9), if they don't notice before then 😋

We told parents, grandparents and siblings. We have also slowly told a few really close friends. We don't plan on posting on social media until the first ultrasound. We are to excited to keep it a conplete secret

Thank you everyone for all of your advice. Everyone has been very helpful. I have had a miscarriage at 9 weeks so I think once I'm past that i will feel much better about sharing. I've also kept a pregnancy a secret for almost 20 weeks then ended up having fetal death and had to give birth.  With that situation I wish that I had shared because I could have used the support.
