When is it safe to leave home with newborn ( ie mall or party ) I'm worried about germs

I took my son out around 5w, after he was discharged from NICU. The doctor just told me to avoid places with large crowds, such as the state Fair or zoo or something. He's fine.

I took my baby out at 3 days old.. Noone touched her and she is now two months and doing great.

I waited until my daughter was 4 weeks. Turns out someone came over that was either sick and didn't know it or had been sick so my girl has a virus. If I had to do it again, I would still wait at least 4 weeks and not allow visitors.

We went out at two weeks for short trips like errands and stuff. We then just contnued to build up our time. Within the 6 week mark we were going longer stretches and doing more frequent errands. I suggest standing in front of your baby at all times or doing somethig like putting a swaddle or light blanket/ cover over your baby! People are rediculous with trying to touch or stick their head in or around the car seat. Unbelieveable how some ppl are, I had to bring it from a place of rude. Not to mention other people's little kids will try to touch the baby too.
