Gender reveal question... When you go in for your anatomy scan, Do you find out the gender right there or wait till your surrounded by loved ones to be surprised?

I am doing a gender reveal party also but I'm going to get the US tech to put the gender in an envelope and plan a dinner date with my SO so we can find out together first. I am thinking of getting a small cake that we can cut to find out the gender for the first time. That way our moment is still special. Then the party is when everyone else finds out.

We had an elective ultrasound last week and had a gender reveal party this weekend! We couldn't wait 3 more weeks for the doctor to schedule the next ultrasound!

I totally don't get this gender reveal party phenomenon. I feel like it's a personal, special thing, and I want to find out with my husband and no one (or their cameras) anywhere. I could see announcing it at a family baby shower as a surprise, after you know, but to actually wait to let everyone find out at the same time as you (who have been going through all of it) - no way! I don't get it at all.

We aren't going to find out at all :) it will be a surprise until the baby makes his/her debut

With my son I found out right there, I was a single pregnant woman and I didn't feel like there was anyone really dying to know as much as me. This time around my husband and I are going to be surprised together and record us finding out, then play it at a reveal party (he'll be at basic training and I don't want to know before him)
