Car seat ??

My hubby and I have decided convertible car seat is what will work best for us - do any of you ladies use this one? It's one we can actually afford and it reclines which I searched all over for. Do you think it will be fine for an infant? It says 5-40lbs for rear facing.. I'm a FTM and never considered convertible car seats until reading into them.. So I'm kind of clueless.

I'm fairly certain this seat does not fit newborns well. It may say the seat starts at 5lbs, but the slots are much too high for a newborn. Remember that the harness straps must be AT or BELOW the shoulders while rear facing. Check out the Cosco Scenera Next at Walmart. Similar price point and will fit a newbie. Good luck!

I'd read the reviews on it through several different stores. My mom got me a car seat for my LO that is the convertible and after reading I felt comfortable enough to say that it should be fine for baby to leave in. Hospital said it's fine to have the carseat installed and then buckle her in before we leave. 😊 I'm also not a huge fan of the travel system, so I dont find it to be that much of a loss, but it's something you may want to consider.

Do you live in the south or somewhere it doesn't snow during the winter?  IMO if you live where there is snow and cold winters, straight to a convertible is not practical for the first year.

We registered for an infant carrier. (The Graco click connect so it would fit in a stroller.) I'm also a ftm. I've heard a lot of people don't really use the travel system very long and then they get rid of them bc they're too bulky.

You should start with an infant carrier. Most hospitals won't let you leave unless your child is in one and properly strapped.

If it says it's safe for as low as 5lbs and then I would say it's good!
