Can anything be picked up by ultrasound by 7 weeks or is that to early?

I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks because I was really sick. All we could see is the yolk sac. But I don't think you usually see much until 9-12 weeks.. however some ultrasound machines are better than others so it depends on where you get it done. Mine was a doctor not an ultrasound tech so all they could show me was the yolk sac :)
