My wife has been on BC for 13 yrs? How long until she is safely able to conceive.

Question

My wife has been taking BC since the age of 16 she is now 29. We are trying to have children and I was wondering if...

#1 since she has taken BC so long will it take longer to conceive? She stopped taking it prior to honeymoon a week ago?

#2 should we wait to try and conceive? She has taken BC so long I don't want that to effect our prengnancy....:wait until it's totally out system?

Sorry i am a guy and this is probably a weird post but I need/want answers ladies!

I was on birth control for 9 years before conceiving my first baby. Took about 2-3 months before my cycle was normal and was pregnant within 4 months of stopping!

You can start trying to conceive straight away, if she does get pregnant quickly the pill will have no effect on the fetus. If her body isn't ready she won't get pregnant, it may take a few months for her cycle to regulate. Don't worry, it will happen when her body is ready. Just be healthy (both of you) and happy and enjoy being close and going on the journey together! Good luck to you both!
