Sex on the first date?

So I'm home on maternity leave watching some Jerry Springer (don't judge) haha and they asked if having sex on the first date is a good idea? What do yall think? Yes or No?

I say if you want to go for it. I also don't buy into the whole "he won't respect you!/you can't have a serious relationship!" thing. (1)  tons of people who hooked up on the first date go on to have serious relationships with that person, myself included. 
(2) if a guy thinks my sleeping with him on the first date makes me unworthy of respect than I don't want them. It takes two to tango. Also, they should question why someone hooking up with them makes her worthy of disrespect. What's wrong with you? Hmmm?

I don't think anyone on a real *date* is looking for sex immediately, that sounds more like a hook-up or a booty call.

I mean i think it's totally fine. SO and i had sex on the first date and now we are happily engaged and ttc. Every situation is different.

Totally fine as long as you're into it yourself. I had sex on several first dates that turned in to long term relationships including the love of my life. We July bought a house together and started project babymaking.

It's a personal preference sort of thing, isn't it? I mean be safe, and make sure you're doing it because you want to do it (also make sure your partner is up for it - yay, consent).. But I don't see why not.

The only thing is to be aware of the utterly fucked up nature of this society. If you're a guy and you get sexed on your first date you "score". If you're a girl, then you "gave it up so soon?". Not saying this is right (it's not) just saying that this is how a lot of people can see it. So fuck them (not literally) and do what you want.

Had sex on the first date and here we are almost 5 years later 3 weeks away from getting married and still as crazy about each other.
