How soon?

How soon is it ok to tell people you're pregnant? Anyone?

It's ok to tell them as soon as you want to. Your pregnancy, your body, your friends and family, your decision. I'm high risk for miscarriage though, so I don't tell anyone until after the first trimester. That's a choice my husband and I made though. The only ones I've told is my husband and my best friend. However, if it becomes obvious before then I'll share.

I definitely am not a fan of people telling other people when to announce. It is such a personal thing and there is absolutely no right answer besides what works for you and your family. I think everyone can appreciate the advice and the personal stories, but I know everyone feels differently about this.
Personally, I tell immediate family and very close friends right away (they'd know anyway), and at the 8 week mark (for me, my first dr. appt) always makes it more real and is when I feel comfortable sharing. I, personally, am a strong believer that if women were more open about their struggles with pregnancy (infertility, miscarriages etc.), we would have such a stronger support system. For some reason, our extemely public, over-sharing culture wants to hide miscarriages etc. I understand the pain talking about it can cause, but I also appreciate the healing that comes from talking and RELATING, since 1 in 4 pregnancies and in miscarriage!!

It's really up to you. With our first, my husband and I told family and close friends immediately. With this one, I just found out this morning, we'll probably do the same. I like having that support system. It's ultimately go to you though.

I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks in April this year. We had told family at 8 weeks... Huge mistake. Got my + test last week and won't be telling anyone until at least Labor Day.

When I am pregnant I'm going to tell my family as soon as I can get them together, then wait to tell extended family and friends until trimester 2.

Up to you!! With my first pregnancy ( sadly ended in a missed miscarriage) we told immediate family and a few friends right away. This time around we plan on trying to wait until 12 weeks to tell everyone just because breaking the news to that many people was so hard we wanted to be sure everything with this pregnancy is okay first.

We are waiting to tell parents and siblings until we know it's not in my tube. I have an increased risk of ectopic. Everyone else we will wait until 12 weeks.
