Ttc baby #2... help..

So we had our baby girl may of 2013. We've never used protection before or after having her.. have been trying to conceive for over a year now.. would go into doctors for infertility but heard that gets so expensive and my insurance won't cover it.. so is there any suggestions on what I could take or do to boost my fertility that actually works ?
