Veteran mom advice on stocking for baby?

So I have the essentials like pampers, wipes, hand sanitizer, but I'm wondering what are the staples for bringing home baby those first few weeks? Things like diaper rash cream, baby soap, even things I have no idea about... What would you veteran momas recommend on my next trip to Walmart/target. Thanks in advance!

Tylenol is a must!!! You don't think about needing it till 3am when baby gets sick then you will be soooo very happy you've got it.

Cloth diapers to use as burp rags
Baby gowns (easier to change diapers)
Baby socks (for feet and hands)

Not sure where you live but where we are they tell you to give baby vitamin D drops.  We had no idea and had to go out and buy some.  Baby Tylenol is good to have just in case.

All of the items already listed and baby mittens to cover those sharp fingernails. I didn't need them with my first, but my second always scratched his face up. He was in mittens for a long time. Just the cheap thin ones with the small elastic band worked best for us.

The only thing I really have to add is gas drops I used them a ton with my first he would get so upset and gassy from the formula. Anything else I would say you need has already been listed.

Stock up on formula unless breast feeding. Bottles. Burp rags. Blankets. Bassinet and swing. You have most down pat just be prepared with diapers wipes and whatever the baby will be eating :) oh and there will be explosive poops so make sure to stock up on outfit haha

Lil remedies makes a whole kit for $19.99 with baby medicine essentials, also infant ibuprofen. Washcloths. Lotion. Arm and hammer make wipes that are good for the diaper bag in case of the bottle or pacifier, etc (should you use them) hitting the ground.

Currently 38 weeks pregnant with my first, my SIL says that the best thing she bought was one of the 'no touch' thermometers. That has been essential for both of hers. It caught a bad reaction to a vaccine in her youngest and a close call with a fit bought on by a high temp with her oldest.

I've also been told that loads of muslins are useful, a good supply of essentials in your freezer, long life milk in the cupboard (just in case), plenty of tea and coffe for guests, and enough nappies for a few weeks.

I've added my own things such as stocking up on dog food, toilet roll, kitchen roll, bin liners, toiletries and washing powders. Sounds daft but it's those little things that I often forget when I shop (even with a list!). It's no biggie to pop out and get more at the mo. With a baby in tow I know it'll be that bit harder. These are things I don't want to worry about, particularly in the first few sleep deprived months!
