Really scary night.....help

Last night I went to bed and everything was fine. Then at about 11:30 I woke up in extreme pain in my upper stomach area. Felt like terrible cramps. Right away I went to the bathroom and there was no bleeding. It lasted about 2 hours then went away. I have a headache this morning but no cramps or bleeding. Was it just a really really bad bout of gas pain or is it something more? Anyone else have an experience similar to mine. I am calling my dr. Now to see what they have to say.
