Anyone else living with in laws with newborn for first year?

Question

I'm living with my man and his family for at least the first few months and it bothers me. I am a very independent person and like having quiet time. His family is very loud and all up in your business. I just don't want advice all the time on how to raise my child and if I am doing something they wouldn't do. You know? I love them and I'm very fortunate and thankful for being able to stay there.

Does anyone have advice on how to handle in laws or how to cope with living with them?

I live with mine currently. Thankfully my fiancé agreed to not allow them to come when we move (we support them). They're too much for me. I have stated how I felt to my SO as gently as possible. I told him I want to raise my child my way (he agreed). They tried pushing me once and my fiancé turned to me and said "they raised their kids. My brother even let them raise his, I want us to raise our son". So I think open conversation is critical. Do not allow yourself to be walked all over. Have your SO stand up to his family, it makes  much less tension.

Be honest with your feelings. I had my mil visit when I had my 1st and she wanted to take over and tell me what to do. So I had a baby monitor in the kitchen and one in my room, she was in the kitchen at the time, me (totally forgetting the monitor was on) was having a convo with my husband about how I didn't like the way she was being bossy and wanted to do it on my own. She was listening the whole time but from that day she stopped getting involved

Right now my hubby and I love with his parents but not sure for how long..maybe a month or so after baby is born no idea yet
