Have you done PGS?

Question

Curious if any of you have done PGS testing along with IVF and if so, why it was advised. We just had a second early miscarriage but are relatively young (29 and 30) and haven't had any other issues besides mild male factor issue. Second miscarriage we had tested and it was a rare chromosome issue (tetraploidy). I feel like they are steering is towards IVF/PGS..hoping it's just not for the money.

I'm doing IVF with PGS, we had three pregnancies end due to chromosomal abnormalities and I'm 36 so my dr feels it's the best next step for us. My insurance isn't covering it so it's a big decision but we feel given the history and age it's the right thing to do.

I have done two egg retrievals. The first we had 10 eggs retrieved with only 1 day 5 blastocyst. The second we retrieved 19 with 5 lasting. We had debated PGS but dr recommended as we are 33 w/ no pregnancies, low motility & severe endometriosis.

We decided to send our 6 embryos in for testing and only 3 were chromosomally normal. PGS was necessary for us. Now we are hoping for a sticky egg when we do out dec transfer.

What is PGS? Sorry, I've never heard of it, or at least the abbreviation.

Our doctor suggested that we skip the testing. This only because 2 of our 3 failed pregnancies ended because they were in my tubes. We had no way of knowing if those would have been viable if they were in the right spot. The middle pregnancy was a miscarriage, but because we are still in the average of women who have them, he told us to save our money and skip it. It really is case by case. Good luck!

We have a one month old baby boy. The doctor only transferred one because he believed their would be better succes.

Still debating if we need IVF or IVF w/ PGS...I wish it didn't cost so much! We're going to meet with the doctor soon to figure out next steps. Otherwise, we'll just try IUI again and hope third time's the charm. I'm only 29, so hoping we just had some bad luck.
