Couldn't breastfeed

My little one is 8 weeks old now I was only able to breast feed for 2 weeks because I wasn't producing enough milk for her the pediatrician I was taking her to told me it would probably be best if we went to formula after crying I decided I wanted to do what's best. So I stopped breast feeding after all of this and another incident I switched pediatrician but I feel so down and upset that I didn't do more to try to bring my milk in I wasn't given the right advise. Anyone have advise to help me cope with this it really has me down :(
