Worried

So I got my first positive a week and a half ago and then I started spotting a couple days later so I thought for sure I was going to miscarry. I went to the dr Monday my HCG was 54 got it Wednesday and it was 118 so it's good that it doubled but why would I bleed like it was a period? I'm so scared the nurse said I was 1-2 weeks

Anyone have any advice?
