does this look like a melanoma? it is on my foot and I've had it a few years. I'm getting my skin checked in a couple of weeks I just need some reassurance or if anyone thinks it looks dangerous or has one similar. Thanks

I have light and dark freckles all over my skin. Those spots are pretty common honey. It is a type of -oma, but not the cancerous kind lol. You'll be fine I'm sure.

I had to go to a dermatologist about a year ago and inspected every little spot on my body. What helped was when I looked up signs of melanoma, they have a certain criteria. Yours looks fine. The dr you see will look at every mole and freckle you have. This one looks normal, you've had it for a while and it looks relatively small (: definitely check out the American Academy of dermatology or the mayo clinic. Even Wikipedia was helpful for me

It's not even raised. I had actual raised moles on my scalp (where sun touches) and had them removed. They did biopsy but thank God it was negative. It's good to get reassurance. That's why we are here and docs too 💚

I've had melanoma & that's not what it looked like at all. Originally, it looked similar, but changed all of a sudden & quickly became really dark, turned into an odd squiggly-looking shape & had an even darker (almost black) ring around it. I'd show it to you, but I don't have a picture & had surgery to remove a big chunk of tissue/skin right beside my ankle. You definitely need to have it checked when/if there are changes in the appearance of it. It could be different changes from what mine looked like. If it's looked the same since it's been there, then it's just a normal freckle/mole most likely. That's what it looks like to me!
