Conflicted.. 26 years old. Baby?? Or wait and travel

My husband (30) and I have been married over 2 years, after him getting out of the military life has been insane so things are finally calming down (over a year later) we went on a quick belated honeymoon, bought a pontoon boat and are finally getting a rental home. Random deaths have been happening lately and it makes me think of what I want to accomplish if that was to be me or my husband.. I've always wanted to travel! Italy, Greece etc.. I had some major health issues that the dr said I may never be able to have kids! So once I got the ok everything was clear, we started to try. 3 months later, we're so ready for a baby but we also want to live before. We are not rich by any means but we do know how to budget and save fairly well.

Do both... Just stay off BC and enjoy your sex life. Start traveling and see what happens.

Why not do both? If you I know it will be difficult to get pregnant, then start trying now, while also traveling. It seems like it would be more fun that way (enjoying traveling alongside spontaneous unprotected sex). I probably wouldn't get super serious about charting/etc, or bringing it up in conversations though. I would probably just agree to throw caution to the wind for a while & start getting more serious about timing/etc after a few travels are out of the way. But up until then, I'd say have fun in all ways, and if it happens during travels, then it happens. And you could still travel while pregnant. Then put travel on hold when it gets to be too much, and then do some traveling with baby once able.

I can't make that decision for you. If I were me I would travel and if it happens that I got pregnant while traveling or before then I would stop traveling.  But again that is what I would do. Live your life have fun and if it happens that you get pregnant then make it so.

Plan a few trips while you're trying.    It will make baby making more fun, you'll get to live, and if it happens in the process. Then awesome

I think if you're asking whether you should travel first or baby first, you should fulfil your ambitions before starting a family, as it will be difficult to travel with a little one, and you may regret not going.

That being said, even if you fell pregnant tomorrow, you will have a good few months to get some travelling in!

I am/was in a very similar situation. We both wanted to start trying about 6 months ago, but knew we had a few trips ahead of us because we've always traveled. I ended up switching my hours to part time and started traveling right away! We've been TTC officially for about 3 months now, and just in those months we've been on several trips. I say, you never know how long it may take to get pregnant, so why not start trying while you're having fun and relaxing on a vaca? We also had friends who went to Thailand when she was a few months preggo, so just because you're expecting doesn't mean you get stuck at home knitting sweaters :)

Go travel or do both. Don't live with regrets. Other countries are way cooler about children than we are in the U.S.  I don't understand why we act like children are not a critical part of life and look down on the family like we do.

Why do people act like once they have kids the world stops. You can travel with children and take them to all the places you always wanted to go. Didn't your parents take you traveling growing up so why cant you do the same if the answer is yes.

My husband and I are trying to conceive and having fun at the same time! We plan on traveling just as much when baby is born, whether that mean taking him or her with or leaving it with grandparents. I never understood why people stopped their lives when they had a kid :)

I was in the same situation my hubby and I have lived over seas for a yr and wanted to do some traveling and we only made it to Thailand because we decided to start trying thinking it would take long but nope.. Now as much as we had planned to stay much longer and see parts of Asia I realize that I want to be a young parent and have my kids explore with us.. Just because you have kids doesn't mean you can't travel. I have a friend who lives near me and she just got back from Vietnam with her 4 yr old and 2 yr old.. but the list goes on and on starting from the first born.. In the end it's up to you...
