Is it possible to keep yourself from getting pregnant psychologically?

I sweetie to myself after my last pregnancy that I wouldn't have another baby until I was married and completely stable. Now I'm over 30, I've been in a great relationship for years and I want a baby, but I haven't gotten pregnant once. Is it possible that I'm not getting pregnant because of my personal vow all those years ago?

It's possible. The brain is a powerful thing. That is where the phrase " mind over matter" comes from. It's also possible to have a phantom pregnancy. That's where your mind makes you think you are pregnant and makes your body have the symptoms without an actual baby.

It is much harder to conceive over the age of 30, especially if you have been on the pill for many years. Stressing about it won't help, though. Try some rrelaxing meditation and positive affirmations. Focus on what you want and make it happen. Good luck!

I don't think so at all. I avoided getting pregnant like the plague all throughout all of my twenties. I literally thought getting pregnant would ruin my life. I just got married at 32 and decided to go for it and got pregnant the month I got off the pill much to my surprise. I wasn't expecting it for a few months. I also have a few friends who are having serious fertility issues after years of desperately trying. I know when people tell them things like 'stop stressing, and it will happen, just stop trying so hard' it's very hurtful because it implies they don't really want it. Don't worry, I'm sure everything is fine, don't psych yourself out. Just start tracking your cycle and give it a few months. Usually a doc will send you to a fertility specialist after a year or so of trying with no success.
