Calling all scientist! What color eyes will my child have?

Question

My partner has brown eyes, but he gets that from his grandmother. His mom has green eyes while his dad has blue eyes.

I have green eyes, my mom has blue, but my dad has green.  But I also am the only green eyed child on my mom's side. Everyone else is blue.

Isn't there a chance of blue appearing since it runs both sides of the family?  Or since we have brown and green eyes there is a more chance of a brown eyes over a green eyes?

I think this is how it works? Brown is the dominant colour so if your partner passes that gene on, your child will have brown eyes, regardless. If it skips the brown and instead passes a diff colour from his parents, then it should be 2 recessive genes and may end up with blue or green eyes.

You each carry two genes regarding eye color, but only one is the gene you see. That means your husband could have two brown genes, or he could have a brown and a blue. You have a green gene, and possibly a blue, but you cannot carry a brown because brown is the dominant gene so you would have brown eyes if you had it. That means you will either pass on the green or the blue, and your husband will pass on one of his. If you both pass blue, your child will have blue eyes. If he passes brown, your child will 100% have brown eyes. It's really hard to predict!

My mom has blue eyes and my dad has brown, and both my sister and I were blessed with blue. So there is definitely a chance!

Your husband is a rare occurrence he is in the less than 1% of the population where two recessive eye colored parents make a dominant eye colored child (brown) --- this being said he does have dominant brown which makes him be able to pass on brown. Since you have green it possible for the baby to have all eye colors. Blue included.
