Any current/ex JCP employees?

Question

I was just called about a job interview/"talent search" in the next few days. If you're a past/current JCPenney employee please let me know about the experience, the process, and any tips you wish you had before you went into the talent search! (Bonus if you tell me what you wore.) Thanks so much!

I worked for JCP it's a nightmare !!!!! I promise, it's not even worth having a job. They make you lie so much and scam people like no other! It is such a terrible job and I have worked every department at jcp in more than one location. Oh and don't expect a holiday off, or days off without doctor notes and if you have a child and they get sick or something you can't leave work to pick up the child from school or anything!! I didn't spend a single holiday with my family. I put in 1years in Advance for a 2 day vacation for my stepfathers brain surgery was 3 days after he finished chemotherapy and I needed to go see him!! a girl (bffs with the manager) got those 2 days off and she asked the day before those 2 days arrived .. I was furious and let down. I missed seeing him and the girl got off work to go clubbing and party. The company even knew why I asked off but I guess partying is more important.. They make it seem so great but even if you don't get customers to get credit cards with the company, they will cut your hours.. My friend has 4 kids was working there and had to 18 credit cards that month, she only did 16 and they cut her hours to two days a week.. It's ridiculous

I didn't work for JCP but a close friend of mine does. She usually wears slacks and a nice blouse. Light accessories. Light makeup. She likes it! The only problem I've ever heard of is scheduling. She worked with me at Teavana along with JCP and they didn't really work with her and it was always causing a last minute schedule change. Then again, she never checks her online hourly posting so that doesn't help. I wish you the best!
