Would you be upset about this?

Question

So today my husband mentioned that no one got him a gift for our son's arrival at work. He is the boss of his branch and then he said " one time I got a card and a stuffed animal from frozen for that girl I don't even like because her disabled daughter was about to go trough a surgery." ( yes he says he doesn't like her because she is always crying at work and asking him to leave early etc) I was surprised, I don't know why but I didn't like it, I asked when was it and he said about 6 months ago. Is that normal that he didn't share this with me? Specially to buy a gift to a little kid I would expect him to ask me to go to the store and get it... 
I just gave birth for our first son together and I don't know if it is the hormones but I'm upset about this fact.

Just tell him your not mad at him but in the future you would like to know these things when they happen. If someone else would have told you "he got a woman that works with him a gift" you would automatically think he was cheating and would be upset. It's better to know that way you can say "yeah I already know it was for her sick daughter who had surgery" 
When it comes from someone else it always seems much worse than coming from him. Put to him like that so he can understand the situation. If you tell him "this makes me upset you didn't tell until now. Now it makes me wonder if something is going on because I didn't find until now." All its going to do is make him defensive and feel like you don't trust him.

Oh I thought you were upset no one got him a gift, but you're concerned he got a stuffed toy for a child of someone who reports to him. Definitely no big deal.

Honestly this seems silly, I would be proud of my husband was thoughtful enough to buy a little girl who was going through surgery a gift. Sweet man give him a hug!

Thanks for the replies! I know it can sound silly but I guess I got upset because usually he complains about her to me, like " she was crying again, she's annoying, she asked to leave work early, she this and that". And then, when he goes to a store, spends time looking for a stuffed animal for her child he doesn't tell me?! I definitely think that's a nice gesture but yes, I'd like to be envolved. I actually know her, and I have bumped into her even while I was pregnant and thank God she didn't say anything like "your husband was so nice to give my daughter that gift ". That would have been bad. :/

I think it's your hormones. It's really not a big deal especially since he told you and he also stated he didn't even like the girl. Congrats on your baby!

Well. If he said it do freely to you while he was complaining I'm sure to him buying and giving it wasn't a big deal to him and he didn't think it would be to you(Men! Gosh) as annoying and irritated as you must feel.. I'd Honeslty not pick a fight over it.. maybe tell him if he ever has to buy anything else or do something similar to let you know cause you'd love to be involved in the process that way to don't feel left out of the loop and find out later.

Eh. Doesn't seem that abnormal to me. Sounds like he's a good manager actually. And telling someone 'I got this for your daughter to help her with her surgery' is much for personal than saying 'I had my wife go get this...'  Maybe he just wanted the personal touch.

I don't think their is anything going on with him and that woman. He probably just knew a lot about the situation because he is her boss and she had to tell him things that was going on with her child so he wouldn't think she was just skipping out in work. It probably just made him feel bad so he got the little girl a gift. I would want to know about something like that as well but I don't see anything sexualy there or he wouldn't have even told you now.

You're overreacting a little. Poor guy felt so bad about that lady, and felt he should get her something for her child. He might have been to a store alone for something else and found what would be a good gift.
