How can i Tell. If he's changed it all

Ok 3 days ago I seen my ex .but before we have been texting. Once a pond a time he was my best friend,then a baby change things. It was our first together. Ok fast forward we only talk about our daughter. But a couple months ago we started getting along .. So I asked him why are you being nice he stated he still loves me. So 3 days ago he has told me how I still do it for him it was a lot of flirting going on we the both of us.. Ok lady's should I be cautious of him or just take it as it is just flirting wit baby daddy. Help kinda confused
