No AF after coming off pill.

So I came off BC pill last month. I know it can take awhile to get back on track. I was trying to be positive that it would've came as expected today. It did not. As obviously I am new to this now I'm confused. Do I basically have to be prepared 24/7 just incase it comes at any point unexpectedly whenever or would I just have to wait to next month for the next period due date to see if I get it. I am currently not TTC until next month. So do I have to wait till I get AF & it is back on track to TTC. Hope this makes sense I'm just confused on what happens now. lol I was hoping I'd just get it today to avoid all the confusion. I've heard of people not getting until months after. I don't want to wait months to conceive. Help!!!
