Painting while pregnant?

So I will be 14 weeks on Wednesday. My husband and I painted our kitchen last week and today we are painting the living room. I had read a few things about harmful fumes and such, but everything I'm reading is contradicting each other. I wanted to play it safe, so I quit painting and my sister took over, but I'm still curious. It's water based paint, FYI. Anyone know?

I read what to expect when you're expecting. And it said majority of paints out these days have less harmful fumes than they used to so as long as you're not painting with lead paint and keeping the room highly ventilated/wearing a mask everything should be ok. But you can call your Dr for more info if you want. I probably would and will when my time comes to paint haha.

I painted, I just made sure I wore a fume mask and made sure I didn't stay really close to the wall for too long, I left windows open and made sure I didn't have a drink near the wet walls.
