Cramps really bad is it ok to stay in bed?

I understand, sometimes the pain can be horrible! Lay down with a hot towel or heating pad on your crampy area.

Taking a walk will help though. 
Exercising before your AF can reduce the pain during AF. And drink plenty of water.

Going for a walk and drinking lots of water can help ease the pain. When you're lying in bed you tend to just think about how much pain you're in :)
