When do I get an ultrasound?

It's my first time and haven't told my parents nor my husband's so we don't know how soon we can get an ultrasound to show them and give them the news. I'm 6weeks and baby is very small would it still show?

I got one when I was about 8 weeks just to see how far along I was. Then I think at 12 weeks and today at 20 weeks.

With my daughter I got an ultrasound at 6 weeks (because I had sharp side pains and didn't know I was pregnant) then at 12 weeks, 20 weeks, 25 weeks and 36 weeks ( I was high risk pregnancy and had a hemorrhaging cyst on both ovaries. With my son (at 25 weeks pregnant) I've only had one at 12 weeks and one at 20 weeks, so far.

You could get one but some people are different. My 1st sonogram was at 5 weeks 4 days. My sister in law tried to get hers & they had to go back at 8 weeks since 6 weeks wasn't showing up.

We got ours at our first dr appt at 8 weeks. You can definitely see a speck by then and everyone will know it's a baby in the ultrasound :)
